She got to know of Adehyeman Savings and Loans from a friend who had been doing business with the institution for close to two years. The rather positive news on how easy, quick and reliable Adehyeman’s loans were, further increased her quest to give it a try. She stated that the most fascinating thing about what her friend told her was that she could do business with Adehyeman even when she was not operating a deposit account with them. To her this news was hard to believe because most Financial Institutions insisted that client operate a deposit account for sometime before accessing a loan facility from them.
A week after discussing her financial needs with her friend she went to Adehyeman to apply for a loan, in her own words “I was surprised by the level of friendliness and professionalism exhibited by the staff. I was given full details on the eligibility criteria for the loan I wanted. I finally applied for the loan two days after my first visit. To my amazement the loan was processed and disbursed within five (5) working days”.
“I applied for the loan to expand my Tye & Dye and other locally printed cloth business”, she said.
She has currently accessed her second facility with the institution and has acquired a second place at Makola where she now operates from leaving the first one located at Achimota to be managed by her sibling. According to Mrs. Owusu, the growth in her business has been precipitated by the second loan facility she assessed which has allowed her to buy stock for her shop.
The first loan amount she assessed was GHC1,500 which she used to increase her working capital for the purchase of additional stock. She completely paid off her first loan in six months instead of the eight months period agreed on with the institution. She then applied for a second loan amount of GHC2,000 which she used to support the opening of second shop partly catering for the initial stock. She can now boast of having enough stock for sale and can meet the demands of her customers.
She nurtures an ambition of developing her own designs to be printed for sale. She is convinced that this plans when materialized could help her earn more than she is currently earning.
She has already begun the process of securing a third loan in pursuance of this future ambition. She is very glad she is a client of Adehyeman Savings and Loans.
